Suriname: Bami (Stir-Fried Noodles with Shrimp and Pork)

   


Ingredients:
1-2 tbsp oil
1 pork chop (about 150-175 g), cut into
250 g raw shrimp, cut into pieces
1 onion, finely chopped
2 scallions, thinly sliced
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1/4 tsp shrimp paste
1 1/2 tbsp finely chopped red chili (or to taste)
2 fresh bay leaves
80 g dried vermicelli noodles, cooked, drained & cut into 15 cm pieces
2 tbsp soy sauce
100 g green cabbage, shredded
100 g bean sprouts

Heat oil over high heat. Add pork and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until browned. Add shrimp, cook for 1 minute. Add onion, scallions, garlic, shrimp paste, chili, and bay leaves. Stir-fry until onion is translucent, about 2-3 minutes. Add noodles and toss well. Stir in soy sauce, cabbage, and bean sprouts. Stir frequently until heated through and serve hot.
